Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Project Manager to join our team in Flagstaff, Arizona. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and completion of complex construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as a strong understanding of construction processes, contract management, and client relations. The successful candidate will manage project teams, interface with clients, subcontractors, and vendors, and drive all aspects of project success from pre-construction through closeout. This is an on-site position based in Flagstaff, requiring regular presence at project sites and our local operational base.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all phases of complex construction projects from inception to completion, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring adherence to financial and operational targets.
- Oversee all project documentation, including contracts, change orders, submittals, and RFI's.
- Effectively communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders, including clients, executives, and project teams.
- Manage project teams, including superintendents, engineers, and administrative staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Negotiate and administer subcontracts and vendor agreements, ensuring compliance with project specifications and company standards.
- Implement and enforce strict safety protocols and quality assurance programs on all project sites.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Identify and mitigate potential project risks, implementing proactive solutions.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
- Lead project close-out processes, including final inspections, commissioning, and warranty management.
Required Skills
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in project management within the construction industry.
- Proven experience managing projects valued over $20 million.
- Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and sequences.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Procore).
- Excellent leadership, team-building, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and quality control.
- Expert knowledge of construction contracts, drawings, and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and challenging project environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- LEED AP or other relevant sustainability certifications.
- Experience with design-build and CMAR project delivery methods.
- Local knowledge of the Flagstaff and Arizona construction market.
