Job Description

As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) at Pfizer, you will be a key field-based medical colleague responsible for cultivating relationships with leading medical experts (LMEs), healthcare professionals, and organizations within a specific therapeutic area. Your primary role will be to serve as a scientific resource, providing accurate, balanced, and evidence-based information regarding Pfizer’s products, therapeutic areas, and disease states. You will facilitate scientific exchange, gather insights from the field, and support clinical research initiatives, ensuring Pfizer maintains its scientific leadership and understanding of evolving medical needs. This role requires extensive scientific knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for advancing patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with leading medical experts (LMEs) and key opinion leaders (KOLs) in assigned therapeutic areas.
• Serve as a scientific resource, providing unsolicited, evidence-based medical information to healthcare professionals (HCPs).
• Facilitate scientific exchange and discussions around disease states, clinical trials, and Pfizer's products.
• Gather and report insights from the field to internal medical and commercial teams, informing strategy development.
• Identify potential investigators and sites for clinical trials and research collaborations.
• Support medical education initiatives and participate in scientific congresses and symposia.
• Adhere to all compliance, regulatory, and company guidelines in all interactions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams including clinical development, medical affairs, and commercial.

Required Skills

• Doctorate-level degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, DO, DNP) in a relevant scientific or clinical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry, preferably in a field-based medical role (e.g., MSL, Clinical Scientist).
• In-depth knowledge of assigned therapeutic area (e.g., Oncology, Immunology, Rare Disease).
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain scientific relationships with LMEs/KOLs.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage a defined territory effectively.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively (up to 60-70%).

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience as an MSL in a relevant therapeutic area.
• Experience in clinical research or drug development.
• Publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Board certification in a relevant medical specialty.
