Job Description

Reddington Hospital is offering an exciting and comprehensive Psychology Internship opportunity for aspiring professionals eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic clinical environment. This internship is designed to provide practical exposure to psychological assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions within a hospital setting. Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed psychologists in conducting patient assessments, including administering and scoring psychological tests.
• Observe and participate in individual and group therapy sessions, under supervision.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of treatment plans for patients with various mental health conditions.
• Engage in case discussions and clinical meetings to learn about different psychological approaches and patient management strategies.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, adhering to ethical and professional standards.
• Participate in research activities or special projects related to mental health initiatives, as opportunities arise.
• Provide support in educational programs for patients and their families regarding mental health awareness and coping mechanisms.

Required Skills

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's or Master's program in Psychology or a related field.
• Strong theoretical understanding of psychological principles, theories, and research methods.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of empathy, cultural sensitivity, and ethical conduct.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated interest in clinical psychology and patient care.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous volunteer or observational experience in a clinical or mental health setting.
• Knowledge of Nigerian mental health policies and cultural nuances.
• Basic understanding of statistical software (e.g., SPSS) for research tasks.
• Fluency in additional local languages.
