Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to facilitate programs, mentor youth, and create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment. This role is crucial for delivering high-quality, impactful youth development initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and lead engaging recreational, educational, and social activities for diverse groups of youth.
- Act as a positive role model and mentor, guiding youth through personal and social development challenges.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, adhering to YMCA policies and safety protocols.
- Foster an inclusive and welcoming environment where all youth feel valued and respected.
- Communicate effectively with youth, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Document participant progress, incident reports, and program attendance as required.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new youth programs and initiatives.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Required Skills
- Proven experience working with youth in a structured environment (e.g., after-school programs, camps, community centers).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build rapport with young people from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated leadership and group facilitation abilities.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for youth development.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 60 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in Youth Development, Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a strong asset.
- Experience with curriculum development and program planning.
- Knowledge of local community resources and youth service organizations.
- Previous experience working in a non-profit or community-based setting.
