Job Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated Water Engineer to join our dynamic team in Stamford, CT. This critical role involves contributing to the design, analysis, and implementation of various water resources projects, including water supply, wastewater treatment, stormwater management, and hydraulic modeling. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil or environmental engineering with a focus on water infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using industry-standard software for various water infrastructure projects.
- Develop detailed engineering designs, plans, specifications, and reports for water distribution systems, wastewater collection, stormwater management facilities, and treatment plants.
- Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and data analysis to support project development.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure project compliance and successful delivery.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals, cost estimates, and project schedules.
- Participate in client meetings, public hearings, and presentations.
- Provide technical support during construction phases, including review of submittals and site inspections.
- Stay abreast of new technologies, regulations, and best practices in water engineering.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS software.
- Experience with hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, WaterCAD/WaterGEMS).
- Strong understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, and water quality principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in water resources engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one within 1-2 years.
- Experience with project management and client interaction.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations in the US.
