Job Description
We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented Warehouse Support Staff to join our Amazon fulfillment center in Virginia Beach. This is an immediate hire full-time position responsible for a variety of tasks crucial to our warehouse operations, ensuring the smooth flow of products from inbound to outbound. You will work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the safe and efficient handling of goods and maintaining high standards of quality and productivity. Successful candidates will be reliable, able to work independently and as part of a team, and committed to upholding Amazon’s customer-centric values.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unpack, and inspect incoming products for damage or defects
- Accurately sort, label, and store items in designated warehouse locations
- Pick and pack customer orders with precision and efficiency
- Load and unload delivery trucks using appropriate equipment and safety procedures
- Operate various warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks and hand trucks, safely and efficiently (training provided)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily productivity goals
- Identify and report any discrepancies or issues to management promptly
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 49 pounds
- Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods
- Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Reliable transportation to and from the warehouse facility
- Must be 18 years or older
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, production, or logistics environment
- Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
