Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and safety-conscious Warehouse Reach Truck Operator to join our fulfillment center team in Tacoma. In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating reach trucks to move, stack, and retrieve materials within the warehouse. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols will be crucial in maintaining an organized and efficient operation. This position requires strong adherence to all warehouse procedures and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate reach trucks and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to load, unload, stack, and retrieve products.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas in the warehouse.
- Perform daily equipment checks and minor maintenance tasks, reporting any malfunctions to supervisors.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, policies, and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all material movements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve operational goals.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or operational inefficiencies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience operating a reach truck in a warehouse environment.
- Valid reach truck operator certification (or ability to obtain one prior to employment).
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and practices.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items, as well as stand and walk for extended periods.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Basic math and computer skills for inventory tasks.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- More than 2 years of experience as a reach truck operator.
- Experience with other material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, order pickers).
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).
