Job Description

We are actively seeking a dedicated and efficient Warehouse Material Handler to join our logistics team in Summerside, Prince Edward Island. This is an immediate start position for individuals ready to contribute to a fast-paced and dynamic warehouse environment. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in the movement, storage, and distribution of goods, ensuring accuracy and safety in all operations. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of warehouse procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and products.
  • Verify product counts and condition against shipping documents, reporting discrepancies.
  • Operate various material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks (certification preferred, training provided).
  • Transport materials to and from designated storage areas, ensuring proper placement and rotation.
  • Pick and pack orders accurately according to customer specifications and company standards.
  • Perform inventory counts and assist with cycle counts as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties as needed to support operations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a warehouse or logistics environment (entry-level candidates with strong work ethic considered).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory.
  • Basic computer literacy for scanning and inventory tracking.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Forklift operator certification (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck).
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
