Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Warehouse Manager to oversee all aspects of our Glasgow distribution center operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a diverse team, optimizing warehouse processes, ensuring inventory accuracy, and maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency. This role is critical to our supply chain success and involves strategic planning, operational execution, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily warehouse operations, including inbound, outbound, storage, and material handling.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of warehouse associates and supervisors, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Implement and maintain operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and safety.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
- Manage inventory control, cycle counting, and loss prevention strategies.
- Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization to maximize operational flow and storage capacity.
- Collaborate with other departments, including transportation, procurement, and customer service, to ensure seamless operations.
- Prepare and manage budgets, control costs, and track expenses related to warehouse operations.
- Drive lean initiatives and process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar leadership role within logistics.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management systems, and supply chain principles.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage large teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in warehouse management software (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
