We are seeking a highly meticulous and experienced Virtual Ebook Formatting Assistant to join our remote team. You will be responsible for transforming raw manuscripts into perfectly formatted ebooks, ready for millions of readers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Format raw manuscript files (Word, Google Docs) into publication-ready ebook formats (EPUB, MOBI) for various platforms (Kindle, Kobo, Apple Books).
- Ensure strict adherence to brand guidelines, style guides, and platform-specific requirements.
- Implement intricate formatting elements, including hyperlinked tables of contents, footnotes/endnotes, images, and special characters.
- Conduct thorough quality assurance checks to identify and correct formatting errors, broken links, and display inconsistencies across multiple devices and readers.
- Collaborate with authors, editors, and project managers to understand specific formatting needs and deliver projects on time.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex formatting challenges and technical issues.
- Stay updated with the latest ebook formatting standards, software, and industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of project progress and communicate updates effectively.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with ebook formatting software (e.g., Calibre, Sigil, Adobe InDesign for export).
