Job Description

We are seeking a highly organised, proactive, and detail-oriented Entry-Level Virtual Assistant to provide crucial support to our diverse roster of authors. This part-time, remote role is ideal for someone passionate about the literary world, eager to learn, and skilled in administrative tasks. You will play a vital role in helping our authors manage their busy schedules, communications, and online presence, allowing them to focus on their creative work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain authors' calendars, scheduling appointments, interviews, and events.
  • Draft and manage email correspondence on behalf of authors.
  • Conduct research on various topics pertinent to authors' projects or promotional activities.
  • Assist with social media scheduling and content ideas, maintaining authors' online presence.
  • Organize and maintain digital files and documents.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and itineraries (when applicable, for virtual events).
  • Prepare simple reports or summaries as needed.
  • Provide general administrative support to ensure smooth operations for authors.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace.
  • Comfortable with digital tools and platforms for scheduling and communication.
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • A genuine interest in books, literature, and the publishing industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in an administrative or support role, even if informal.
  • Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer).
  • Basic understanding of literary genres and author branding.
  • Enrollment in or completion of a degree in English, Literature, Marketing, or a related field.
