Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and insightful Virtual App Usability Tester to join our distributed team. In this 100% remote role, you will be instrumental in evaluating the user experience of various applications across different platforms. Your primary focus will be on identifying usability issues, gathering critical feedback, and suggesting improvements to enhance app intuitiveness and user satisfaction. You will work independently to conduct structured usability tests, providing actionable insights that directly influence product development and design decisions. Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive usability testing on pre-release and live applications across mobile, web, and other platforms.
• Identify, document, and categorize usability issues, bugs, and inconsistencies with clear descriptions and reproduction steps.
• Provide constructive, detailed, and objective feedback on user interfaces, workflows, and overall user experience.
• Complete assigned testing scenarios and tasks accurately and within specified timeframes.
• Maintain detailed records of testing activities and findings.
• Communicate effectively with product managers, designers, and developers regarding testing results and recommendations.
• Stay updated on the latest app design trends, usability best practices, and mobile operating system guidelines.
• Participate in virtual team meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions for product improvement.

Required Skills

• Minimum 1 year of experience in app testing, quality assurance, or user experience (UX) testing.
• Strong understanding of mobile and web application design principles and user behaviors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to articulate complex usability issues clearly and concisely.
• Proficiency in using various mobile devices (iOS, Android) and web browsers.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
• Familiarity with bug tracking and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, Psychology, or a related field.
• Experience with user research methodologies (e.g., surveys, interviews, focus groups).
• Basic understanding of UX/UI design principles and wireframing.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards for digital products.
• Portfolio demonstrating previous testing or UX analysis work.
