Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and observant Virtual App Usability Tester to join our remote team. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in evaluating the user experience of Canva’s various applications and features, ensuring they are intuitive, efficient, and delightful for our diverse global user base. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home office while making a significant impact on our product development cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough usability testing on new and existing app features across different platforms (web, iOS, Android).
- Identify and document user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) issues, bugs, and inconsistencies.
- Provide clear, concise, and actionable feedback based on predefined test scripts and exploratory testing.
- Record test sessions and observations, highlighting key moments and pain points.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to communicate findings and propose solutions.
- Participate in design reviews, offering a user-centric perspective on planned features.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices in UX testing and design trends.
Required Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong observational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly.
- Proficiency in using and navigating various mobile and web applications.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- A keen interest in user experience and digital product design.
- Basic technical troubleshooting skills for common software or hardware issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in a UX testing, QA, or similar role.
- Familiarity with common UX principles and methodologies.
- Experience using bug tracking and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana).
- Understanding of different operating systems (iOS, Android, Windows, macOS).
- Tertiary qualification in Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Design, Psychology, Information Technology, or a related field.
