Job Description
VCA Animal Hospitals is actively seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Veterinarian to join our thriving team at VCA Alpine Animal Hospital in Provo, Utah. This is a unique opportunity for a dedicated DVM looking for a supportive environment that prioritizes professional growth and quality patient care. You will be responsible for providing a full spectrum of veterinary services, from routine wellness exams and preventative care to complex diagnostics, medical treatments, and surgical procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations, diagnose illnesses and injuries, and develop effective treatment plans.
- Conduct various surgical procedures, including spays, neuters, and other soft tissue surgeries, as well as dental procedures.
- Administer vaccinations, prescribe medications, and provide preventative care recommendations.
- Interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory results, radiographs, and ultrasounds.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with pet owners regarding diagnoses, prognoses, treatment options, and home care instructions.
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely medical records using our practice management software.
- Collaborate closely with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of patient care.
- Participate in continuing education to stay current with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine and surgery.
- Handle emergency cases and provide critical care when necessary.
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented hospital culture.
Required Skills
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA-accredited institution.
- Eligibility for veterinary licensure in the state of Utah.
- Demonstrated proficiency in general veterinary medicine, surgery, and diagnostics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients and colleagues.
- Compassion, empathy, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.

Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of post-DVM clinical experience in a small animal practice.

- Proficiency in veterinary dental procedures beyond basic extractions.
- Special interest or experience in specific areas such of veterinary medicine (e.g., exotics, emergency, internal medicine).
