Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Vehicle Painter to join our dynamic team in Tampa, Florida. As a Vehicle Painter, you will be responsible for preparing vehicle surfaces, mixing and matching paint colors, and applying paint finishes to restore damaged vehicles to their original aesthetic and protective standards. Your expertise will ensure high-quality finishes and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking according to manufacturer specifications and company standards.
- Mix and match paint colors to achieve accurate color formulations, ensuring seamless blending with existing finishes.
- Apply primer, base coat, and clear coat paint layers using spray guns and other painting equipment.
- Inspect painted surfaces for quality, ensuring proper coverage, smoothness, and absence of defects.
- Maintain and clean all painting equipment, including spray guns, booths, and tools.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and environmental regulations related to paint handling and disposal.
- Collaborate with other technicians and estimators to ensure timely and efficient workflow.
- Keep abreast of new painting techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Document work performed and materials used accurately.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Painter in a collision repair or automotive body shop setting.
- Proficiency in surface preparation, sanding, and masking techniques.
- Expertise in paint mixing, color matching, and paint application processes.
- Familiarity with various paint systems (e.g., waterborne, solvent-based).
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality finishes.
- Ability to operate and maintain painting equipment safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of automotive body repair principles and procedures.
- Understanding of safety protocols and environmental regulations for painting operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- I-CAR or ASE certification in Painting & Refinishing.
