Job Description

M&T Bank is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Treasury Analyst to join our dynamic Treasury team in Buffalo, NY. This role is crucial for managing the bank’s liquidity, capital, and interest rate risk. The Treasury Analyst will support the execution of treasury strategies, optimize financial resource allocation, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze daily cash positions and liquidity requirements.
• Prepare and maintain various treasury reports, including liquidity forecasts, interest rate risk analyses, and capital adequacy reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
• Assist in the execution of funding and investment strategies, including managing short-term debt and investment portfolios.
• Support the development and maintenance of financial models used for balance sheet management, stress testing, and capital planning.
• Collaborate with various internal departments, including Accounting, Risk Management, and Capital Markets, to ensure accurate data, coordinated efforts, and robust financial controls.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements related to treasury activities, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
• Participate in special projects and initiatives to enhance treasury operations, systems, and strategic objectives.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in treasury, corporate finance, or a related analytical role within a financial institution.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proven proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.
• Excellent understanding of financial markets, banking products, and core treasury concepts.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial functions).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CTP).
• Experience with treasury management systems (e.g., Bloomberg, Wallstreet Suite) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks impacting banking treasury functions (e.g., Dodd-Frank, Basel III).
• SQL or other data analysis tool proficiency for querying and manipulating large datasets.
