Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Translator to join our dynamic team in Rosslyn, Virginia. This full-time position is open to qualified candidates globally and offers visa sponsorship to support your relocation and employment in the United States. As a Translator, you will play a crucial role in facilitating clear and accurate communication across various languages, supporting our diverse client engagements and internal projects. You will be responsible for translating complex documents, reports, presentations, and communications, ensuring linguistic and cultural accuracy while maintaining the highest standards of quality and confidentiality. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong linguistic expertise, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate a wide range of documents and materials (e.g., legal, financial, technical, marketing) from source languages to target languages, ensuring accuracy, nuance, and cultural appropriateness.
- Perform proofreading and editing of translated texts to ensure linguistic quality and consistency.
- Manage translation projects, including coordinating with project managers and subject matter experts.
- Utilize translation memory (TM) tools, glossaries, and style guides to maintain consistency and efficiency.
- Conduct research to ensure correct terminology and cultural references are used.
- Adhere to strict deadlines and quality standards for all translation projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand project requirements and provide linguistic support.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information handled during translation.
Required Skills
- Native-level fluency in at least two languages (e.g., English and Spanish, English and Mandarin, etc.) with exceptional written communication skills in both.
- Proven experience in professional translation, demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with CAT tools (e.g., Trados Studio, MemoQ, Wordfast).
- Strong understanding of cultural nuances and ability to adapt translations accordingly.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Foreign Languages, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or post-graduate certification in Translation.
- Accreditation from a recognized translation body (e.g., ATA, ITI).
- Experience in specific industry sectors such as finance, legal, healthcare, or technology.
- Familiarity with localization best practices.
- Experience with machine translation post-editing (MTPE).
