Job Description
Are you a skilled automotive technician looking for a new opportunity? Discount Tire is seeking dedicated and reliable Tire Fitters to join our team in Tampa, Florida. As a Tire Fitter, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient installation, rotation, and repair of tires and wheels for a diverse range of vehicles, all while upholding our high standards of customer service and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform tire mounting, balancing, rotations, and flat repairs efficiently and safely.
- Inspect tires and wheels for damage and wear, providing recommendations to customers.
- Utilize specialized tools and equipment for tire service tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.
- Assist customers with their automotive needs in a courteous and professional manner.
- Conduct basic vehicle inspections related to tire and wheel health.
- Complete necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely fashion.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Tire Fitter or in a similar automotive role (minimum 1 year).
- Strong understanding of tire service procedures and safety protocols.
- Ability to use tire changing and balancing equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift heavy tires and perform physical tasks required for the job.
- Basic English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE certification or other relevant automotive certifications.
- Experience with various vehicle makes and models.
- Prior experience in a customer-facing role.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
