Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Technical Lead to join our dynamic team in Calgary. This pivotal role requires a seasoned professional to guide technical teams, drive architectural decisions, and ensure the successful delivery of complex software solutions. You will be instrumental in mentoring engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, and collaborating closely with product management to define and execute our technology roadmap. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Drive the technical design and architecture of scalable, robust, and secure software solutions.
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle from conception to deployment and maintenance.
- Collaborate with product owners, stakeholders, and other technical leads to define technical requirements and strategies.
- Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring timely and high-quality project delivery.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential application to our products.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of experience in software development with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role.
- Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, or Node.js.
- Strong understanding of software architecture patterns, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to mentor and guide technical teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience in data analytics, machine learning, or AI.
