Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Technical Artist to join our innovative team in Green Bay, Wisconsin. In this role, you will be the bridge between our art and engineering teams, translating artistic vision into technical realities within our game engine. You will be instrumental in developing robust art pipelines, optimizing assets, and ensuring visual fidelity while maintaining performance targets across various platforms. This position is open to candidates requiring visa sponsorship. You will leverage your artistic eye and technical prowess to solve complex challenges, improve workflows, and empower artists to create stunning visuals efficiently. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize art pipelines and workflows, ensuring efficient asset creation and integration into the engine.
• Collaborate closely with artists and engineers to identify technical constraints, provide solutions, and establish best practices.
• Create and implement custom tools, scripts, and shaders to enhance artistic capabilities and improve visual quality.
• Profile and optimize game assets (models, textures, animations, VFX) to meet performance targets without compromising visual integrity.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the art team on engine features, asset specifications, and problem-solving.
• Research and evaluate new technologies, tools, and techniques to improve our content creation process.
• Participate in the planning and execution of art asset creation, ensuring technical feasibility and adherence to project goals.

Required Skills

• Proficiency with 3D content creation software (e.g., Maya, Blender, ZBrush).
• Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, C#).
• Expertise with game engines (Unity, Unreal Engine).
• Understanding of real-time rendering, PBR workflows, and shader development (HLSL/GLSL).
• Experience with asset optimization techniques for various platforms.
• Familiarity with animation pipelines and rigging principles.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Digital Art, or a related field.
• Experience with VFX creation tools (e.g., Houdini, Niagara).
• Knowledge of photogrammetry pipelines.
• Portfolio demonstrating strong technical and artistic skills in real-time environments.
• Experience working on shipped titles.
