Job Description
As a Technical Account Manager (TAM) at AWS, you will be the trusted technical advisor for our most strategic customers, helping them plan, launch, and optimize their cloud architecture. You will work closely with customer teams and internal AWS experts to ensure their success on the AWS platform. This role requires a blend of technical depth, customer advocacy, and strategic thinking. Visa sponsorship is available for qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders, understanding their business objectives and technical requirements.
- Provide proactive technical guidance and recommendations to optimize AWS infrastructure for performance, cost, security, and operational excellence.
- Act as a single point of contact for customer inquiries and escalations, orchestrating internal AWS teams to resolve issues efficiently.
- Conduct regular business reviews with customers to assess progress, identify new opportunities, and ensure alignment with AWS best practices.
- Educate customers on new AWS services and features, demonstrating how they can enhance their solutions.
- Assist customers in planning and executing successful migrations to the AWS cloud.
- Participate in on-call rotations or provide extended support as needed to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with AWS product teams to advocate for customer feature requests and provide feedback.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a technical account management, solutions architecture, or similar customer-facing technical role.
- Strong understanding of core AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Lambda, etc.) and cloud architecture principles.
- Experience with operating systems (Linux/Windows), networking, and security concepts.
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to a variety of audiences.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a technical field.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional.
- Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Experience working with enterprise customers in a cloud environment.
- ITIL or other relevant certifications.
