Job Description

Louisiana State University’s College of Human Sciences & Education is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals for a Teaching Internship program. This hands-on internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in an educational setting, working alongside experienced educators and contributing to student success. Interns will develop valuable pedagogical skills, classroom management techniques, and a deeper understanding of curriculum development and student engagement within a university or K-12 partner school environment. This internship is designed for aspiring educators eager to make a tangible impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers or faculty members in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
• Support students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
• Help manage classroom activities and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Participate in curriculum development meetings and contribute innovative ideas.
• Observe and learn from experienced educators, actively seeking feedback for professional growth.
• Prepare instructional materials, visual aids, and other resources as needed.
• Assist with grading assignments and providing constructive feedback to students.
• Engage with students to foster their academic and personal development.

Required Skills

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an Education, Child Development, or related degree program.
• Strong passion for education and working with students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Basic understanding of pedagogical principles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a classroom setting (e.g., tutoring, volunteer work).
