Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Consultant to join our dynamic team in Geelong. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and superannuation funds.
  • Provide expert advice on Australian taxation laws and regulations.
  • Assist clients with tax planning strategies to optimize their tax position.
  • Conduct tax research and prepare technical advice and opinions.
  • Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) on behalf of clients.
  • Manage client relationships and identify opportunities for additional services.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and industry trends.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Australian tax environment.
  • Strong understanding of Australian tax legislation (income tax, GST, FBT, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to client service and professional development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CA/CPA qualification or actively pursuing.
  • Master of Taxation or other relevant postgraduate qualifications.
  • Experience with international tax matters.
  • Previous experience in a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm.
  • Fluency in additional languages.
