Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainability Consultant to join our growing team in Albany, NY. This role is crucial in helping our diverse clients navigate the complexities of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) challenges and opportunities. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing sustainability strategies, conducting impact assessments, and advising on regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to sustainability consulting engagements, including strategy development, ESG reporting, climate risk assessments, and circular economy initiatives.
• Conduct research and analysis on sustainability trends, regulations, and best practices relevant to client industries.
• Develop tailored solutions and recommendations to help clients achieve their sustainability goals and improve ESG performance.
• Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and other deliverables for clients and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across Deloitte to integrate sustainability considerations into broader consulting projects.
• Support business development activities, including proposal writing and client relationship management.
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to knowledge sharing within the sustainability practice.
• Stay abreast of evolving sustainability standards, frameworks (e.g., SASB, TCFD, GRI), and certifications.

Required Skills

• Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of professional experience in sustainability consulting, corporate sustainability, or a related field.
• Proven experience with ESG frameworks, climate change risk assessment, carbon footprinting, or circular economy principles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, client-facing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications in sustainability (e.g., LEED AP, GRI Certified Professional, SASB FSA).
• Experience with data analytics tools or sustainability software platforms.
• Project management experience, including managing project scope, budget, and timelines.
• Knowledge of specific industry regulations related to environmental compliance (e.g., EPA, state-specific regulations).
• Fluency in additional languages.
