Job Description
Gulfstream Aerospace is seeking a talented and enthusiastic UX Design Intern to join our innovative team for the summer. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in user experience design within the prestigious aviation industry. The intern will work alongside experienced designers, engineers, and product managers to contribute to the research, design, and testing of user interfaces for our next-generation aircraft cockpits, cabin management systems, and internal enterprise applications. This is an excellent chance to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges, develop professional skills, and build a strong portfolio in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to understand user needs and behaviors.
- Contribute to the creation of user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for various digital products.
- Collaborate with senior UX designers and cross-functional teams to iterate on design solutions based on feedback and user data.
- Participate in design critiques and present design concepts to stakeholders.
- Support the maintenance and evolution of our design system and component libraries.
- Learn and apply industry-standard UX design tools and methodologies.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of UX principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
- A portfolio demonstrating design projects, including process and final deliverables (academic or personal projects are welcome).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
- Familiarity with aviation or complex system design principles.
- Experience with animation or motion graphics for UI.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
