Job Description
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Summer UX Design Intern to join our innovative team in Morgantown, West Virginia. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in user experience research and design within a leading global technology company. You will work alongside experienced designers, product managers, and engineers, contributing to real-world projects that impact millions of users. This role is ideal for students passionate about creating intuitive, user-friendly, and impactful digital experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior UX designers in conducting user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
- Contribute to the creation of user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.
- Participate in design critiques and incorporate feedback from team members and stakeholders.
- Help analyze user data and translate research findings into actionable design recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and implementation.
- Support the maintenance and evolution of design systems and pattern libraries.
- Present design concepts and research findings to internal teams.
- Learn and apply IBM's Enterprise Design Thinking methodologies.
Required Skills
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Familiarity with UX design principles and user-centered design methodologies.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar.
- Strong portfolio showcasing academic or personal UX design projects.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to articulate design decisions and concepts clearly.
- Basic understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with animation or motion design tools (e.g., After Effects).
- Familiarity with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Experience with agile development environments.
- Prior internship or project experience in a corporate or startup setting.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
