Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with experienced software engineers to design, develop, and deploy new features and improvements to the Shopify platform.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code in various programming languages such as Ruby on Rails, React, JavaScript, or Go.
- Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to ensure high code quality.
- Troubleshoot and debug software issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment and monitoring.
- Learn and apply best practices in software engineering, including design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
- Attend team meetings, stand-ups, and technical discussions, actively contributing your ideas and perspectives.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++, Ruby, JavaScript, Go).
- Understanding of fundamental computer science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
- Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and modern web frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or project experience in software development.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio of personal projects.
