Job Description

Join Kaiser Permanente’s dynamic Public Relations team for an exciting Summer PR Internship in Oakland, CA. Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily media monitoring and analysis, identifying relevant news and trends in healthcare and public relations.
• Draft, edit, and proofread various communication materials, including press releases, media advisories, fact sheets, and internal communications.
• Support the planning and execution of PR campaigns and events.
• Conduct research to inform communication strategies and identify media opportunities.
• Maintain and update media contact databases and distribution lists.
• Support social media content development and community engagement efforts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and ensure consistent messaging.
• Provide administrative support to the PR team as needed.

Required Skills

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong research and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Basic understanding of public relations principles and media landscape.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated interest in healthcare and corporate communications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous internship or volunteer experience in a PR, communications, or marketing role.
• Familiarity with media monitoring tools (e.g., Cision, Meltwater).
• Experience with social media platforms in a professional capacity.
