Job Description
Join Novartis for an enriching Summer Clinical Research Internship in Port Harcourt. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the clinical research field within a leading global pharmaceutical company. You will work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to ongoing clinical trials and research projects designed to advance medical science and bring innovative therapies to patients. Interns will be exposed to various aspects of clinical trial management, data collection, regulatory affairs, and ethical considerations in research.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clinical research coordinators with study start-up activities, including document preparation and site selection.
- Support data entry, data cleaning, and quality control procedures for clinical trial data.
- Participate in patient recruitment and retention strategies under supervision.
- Learn about and adhere to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in preparing for and participating in investigator meetings and monitoring visits.
- Conduct literature reviews to support research initiatives and project development.
- Contribute to the development of study-related materials and presentations.
- Perform administrative tasks as required to support the clinical research team.
Required Skills
- Strong academic record in a relevant scientific or medical field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous exposure to a research environment (e.g., academic project, lab work).
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Knowledge of statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS) is a plus.
