Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Sports Coach to join our dynamic team, focusing on developing athletic talent and promoting positive personal growth among youth in our community programs. This on-site role involves designing and leading training sessions for various sports, mentoring young athletes, and actively contributing to the overall success and mission of Indiana Sports Corp. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundational understanding of sports principles, exceptional communication abilities, and an unwavering commitment to youth development and sportsmanship. Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and implement engaging and effective training programs tailored for athletes of diverse age groups and skill levels.
- Deliver expert one-on-one and group coaching, emphasizing skill acquisition, strategic understanding, and the promotion of sportsmanship.
- Continuously monitor athlete performance, provide constructive and timely feedback, and adapt coaching methodologies as required.
- Cultivate and maintain a safe, inclusive, and encouraging training and competitive environment for all participants.
- Foster collaborative relationships with fellow coaches, program administrators, and community partners to enhance program delivery.
- Represent Indiana Sports Corp with the highest level of professionalism and integrity at all events, practices, and community engagements.
- Actively participate in the planning and execution of sports-related events, tournaments, and community outreach initiatives.
- Maintain meticulous records pertaining to attendance, athlete performance metrics, and any incidents that may occur.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in coaching sports (e.g., basketball, soccer, track & field, volleyball) at various levels.
- Comprehensive knowledge of sports-specific rules, advanced techniques, and critical safety protocols.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, particularly effective when interacting with youth, parents, and colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, and facilitate the development of athletes with diverse abilities and backgrounds.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, or a commitment to obtain these certifications within a specified timeframe.
- Possession of valid and recognized coaching certifications pertinent to the sports being coached (e.g., USSF, NFHS, USA Basketball, etc.).
- Ability to successfully pass a comprehensive background check as a prerequisite for employment.
- Unwavering commitment to upholding principles of fair play, fostering teamwork, and promoting positive youth development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or a closely related academic discipline.
- Prior experience working effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Proficiency in coaching multiple sports disciplines.
- Bilingual abilities, with proficiency in languages such as Spanish or French.
- Previous experience in sports program administration or large-scale event management.
