Job Description
Providence Health & Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our dynamic therapy team in Portland, Oregon. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to assess speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders in patients of all ages.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices and patient-centered goals.
- Provide direct therapeutic intervention, including individual and group therapy sessions, to address communication and swallowing impairments.
- Educate patients and their families/caregivers on communication strategies, swallowing precautions, and home exercise programs.
- Document patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner according to established standards.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.
- Adhere to all ethical guidelines, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives within the department.
Required Skills
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligible for CFY.
- Current or eligible for Oregon State Speech-Language Pathologist license.
- Demonstrated experience in evaluating and treating a wide range of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and professional ethics.
- Eligibility for visa sponsorship (e.g., H1-B) if applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of clinical experience as a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Experience in an acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, or outpatient clinic setting.
- Specialization or advanced training in specific areas such as dysphagia, voice disorders, or neurological communication disorders.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin) is a plus.
- Experience supervising clinical fellows or students.
