Job Description
BrightStar Care of Scottsdale is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Needs Caregiver to provide personalized care and support to clients with diverse needs in their homes. This full-time position offers a rewarding opportunity to work one-on-one with clients, fostering their independence and ensuring their well-being. You will be an integral part of our care team, collaborating with families and healthcare professionals to create a supportive and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Providing personal care and hygiene support tailored to individual needs.
- Implementing and monitoring care plans, documenting observations and changes in client condition.
- Engaging clients in stimulating activities appropriate for their developmental and cognitive abilities.
- Administering medication reminders and assisting with light meal preparation.
- Ensuring a safe, clean, and organized environment for clients.
- Communicating effectively with clients, families, and the BrightStar Care team.
- Providing emotional support and companionship.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable experience providing care to individuals with special needs.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist clients as needed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a strong understanding of diverse special needs.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications
- CNA certification or equivalent experience and training.
- Experience with specific conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, or Cerebral Palsy.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Previous experience working with a multidisciplinary care team.
