Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our team. The SEN Teacher will play a crucial role in creating a supportive and effective learning environment for students with diverse learning needs. This position involves developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), collaborating with parents, general education teachers, and support staff, and utilizing a variety of instructional strategies to meet the unique academic, social, and emotional needs of our students. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of special education laws and best practices, a commitment to student success, and the ability to inspire and motivate students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in both pull-out and inclusion settings.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
  • Manage a caseload of students, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Participate in ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings.
  • Implement positive behavior intervention strategies.
  • Stay current with best practices in special education and relevant educational technologies.

Required Skills

  • Valid Texas teaching certification with a Special Education endorsement.
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Knowledge of federal and state special education laws and regulations (IDEA, ARD process).
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and assessment tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
