Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain a wide array of professional audio equipment, including state-of-the-art digital and analog mixing consoles, wireless microphone systems, speaker arrays, and digital audio workstations.
- Conduct thorough sound checks, system calibration, and acoustic optimization to guarantee impeccable audio quality for all performances and events.
- Masterfully mix live sound for various types of events, adapting dynamically to different musical genres, performance styles, and artist requirements.
- Proactively troubleshoot and swiftly resolve any technical issues pertaining to audio systems during setup, rehearsals, and live events.
- Collaborate effectively with artists, band members, production managers, lighting technicians, stage crew, and other event personnel to achieve a cohesive and high-quality overall production.
- Assist diligently with the efficient setup, intricate breakdown, and secure transportation of audio equipment as per production schedules.
- Execute regular preventative maintenance, precise inventory management, and necessary repairs on all audio equipment to ensure peak performance and longevity.
- Stay continuously updated on emerging industry trends, cutting-edge technologies, and evolving best practices in live sound engineering and production techniques.
Required Skills
- Proven experience of at least 4 years as a Sound Engineer, with substantial experience in a fast-paced live event, concert venue, or broadcast environment.
- Expert-level proficiency in operating both digital and analog mixing consoles from leading brands (e.g., Avid VENUE, Yamaha CL/QL series, DiGiCo, Midas).
- A profound understanding of acoustics, audio signal flow, intricate audio system design principles, and frequency management.
- Proficiency with industry-standard Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, or Ableton Live for playback and recording.
- Exceptional ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex audio problems efficiently under pressure.
- Outstanding communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Demonstrated flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by event schedules.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, Broadcast Technology, or a closely related technical field.
- Professional certifications in specific audio equipment operation (e.g., Dante Certification, JBL HiQnet) or live sound technologies.
