Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Remote Social Media Content Moderator to join our global team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining a safe, respectful, and engaging online environment for our community across various social media platforms. You will be responsible for reviewing user-generated content, ensuring compliance with community guidelines, and taking appropriate action on reported violations. This is a critical remote position requiring strong judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering positive online interactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor user-generated content across multiple social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok) for adherence to community guidelines and terms of service.
  • Review and moderate content including text, images, videos, and live streams, identifying and addressing inappropriate, offensive, or harmful material.
  • Take swift and accurate action on reported content, which may include removal, warning users, or escalating complex cases to senior moderators or legal teams.
  • Apply consistent moderation standards, understanding nuances of different platforms and cultural contexts.
  • Document moderation decisions and actions clearly and concisely.
  • Provide constructive feedback and insights to improve moderation policies and tools.
  • Stay up-to-date with evolving social media trends, platform policies, and online safety best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members in a fully remote environment.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (2+ years) in content moderation, community management, or a related field.
  • Exceptional judgment and decision-making abilities, especially under pressure.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and their respective community guidelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • High level of empathy and emotional intelligence to handle sensitive content.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain focus in a remote setting.
