Job Description
Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a passionate and experienced Social Media Community Moderator to join our global community team. This is a 100% remote position, open to candidates located anywhere in the United States. In this role, you will be the voice of our games and the guardian of our communities, ensuring a positive and engaging environment for players across various social media platforms. You will actively monitor discussions, engage with players, enforce community guidelines, and escalate critical issues to ensure the health and vibrancy of our player base. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of gaming communities, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to moderation and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively monitor and moderate user-generated content across various social media platforms (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, Discord) to ensure adherence to community guidelines and terms of service.
- Engage directly with community members in a positive and constructive manner, answering questions, providing support, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
- Identify and escalate sensitive or critical community issues, trends, and player feedback to internal teams, including PR, marketing, and development.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of game lore, mechanics, and ongoing community discussions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to create and schedule engaging social media content and campaigns.
- Provide regular reports on community sentiment, moderation actions, and emerging trends.
- Assist in the development and refinement of community guidelines and moderation best practices.
- Stay informed about industry trends, new social media features, and community management tools.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of professional experience in social media moderation, community management, or a related role within the gaming industry.
- Demonstrated passion for video games and a deep understanding of online gaming communities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to adapt tone for different platforms and audiences.
- Proven ability to manage challenging situations and diffuse conflict effectively and empathetically.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with various social media platforms and community management tools.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, English, or a related field.
- Experience with live service games and managing communities for ongoing game titles.
- Familiarity with Blizzard Entertainment's game titles and communities.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools for social media insights.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus.
