Job Description

As an SOC Analyst at Deloitte in New Orleans, you will play a crucial role in our client-facing cybersecurity operations, responsible for monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to cyber threats. Key Responsibilities

• Perform real-time monitoring and analysis of security events from various sources, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint security solutions.
• Investigate and triage security incidents, determining their scope, root cause, and impact.
• Develop and implement incident response procedures to contain, eradicate, and recover from cyberattacks.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of security monitoring tools, processes, and playbooks.
• Generate detailed incident reports and provide recommendations for remediation and prevention.
• Participate in threat hunting activities to proactively identify new attack vectors and vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, network operations, and application development, to ensure effective incident resolution.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of security operations, incident response, and threat intelligence.
• Proficiency with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, IBM QRadar, Microsoft Sentinel, Elastic SIEM).
• Experience with network protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of common attack techniques and mitigation strategies (MITRE ATT&CK framework).
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and report writing abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CEH, GIAC GCIH, GCIA).
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.
• Previous experience in a Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) or large enterprise SOC.
• Demonstrated experience handling visa sponsorship processes in previous roles or strong understanding of the requirements.
