Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Norfolk. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals eager to learn and grow within the supply chain industry. As a Shipping & Receiving Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods through our facility, from inbound deliveries to outbound shipments. We provide comprehensive training, so no prior experience is necessary – just a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn!
Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders and invoices, and inspect for damage.
- Accurately document all inbound and outbound materials using our inventory management system.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including picking, packing, labeling, and loading goods onto trucks or containers.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external carriers to schedule and track deliveries.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Operate various material handling equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks (training provided).
- Assist with periodic inventory counts and discrepancies.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
