Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Risk Analyst to join our dynamic Enterprise Risk Management team in Vancouver. In this role, you will be instrumental in identifying, assessing, monitoring, and reporting on various financial and non-financial risks across RBC’s diverse operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, a deep understanding of risk management frameworks, and the ability to communicate complex risk concepts effectively to stakeholders at all levels. You will contribute to the development and implementation of robust risk strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of credit, market, operational, and strategic risks, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain risk models, methodologies, and tools to enhance risk assessment capabilities.
  • Prepare comprehensive risk reports, dashboards, and presentations for various committees and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and risk appetite metrics, identifying emerging risks and trends.
  • Collaborate with business units and support functions to integrate risk management practices into daily operations.
  • Lead and participate in risk assessments, scenario analysis, and stress testing exercises.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry best practices in risk management.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior risk analysts.
  • Ensure adherence to RBC's risk framework, policies, and procedures.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management within the financial services industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R).
  • Solid understanding of risk management frameworks, regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel III, OSFI guidelines), and financial products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with risk modeling and quantitative analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or professional designation (e.g., FRM, CFA, PRM).
  • Experience with risk management software and systems (e.g., SAS, GRC platforms).
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and machine learning applications in risk.
  • Prior experience in credit risk, market risk, or operational risk specializations.
