Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Risk Analyst to join our dynamic team in Manchester. In this role, you will be instrumental in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial and operational risks across various business lines. You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust risk management frameworks, conducting in-depth analysis, and providing strategic recommendations to senior management. This is a critical position that requires a strong analytical mind, a deep understanding of financial markets and regulations, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of key risks across assigned business units.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of risk exposures, including stress testing and scenario analysis.
  • Prepare comprehensive risk reports and presentations for senior management and relevant committees.
  • Provide expert advice and challenge to business stakeholders on risk-related matters and control effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with internal audit, compliance, and other control functions to ensure integrated risk management.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry best practices in risk management.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the team's professional development.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management within the financial services sector.
  • Strong understanding of financial products, markets, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., Basel III, Solvency II).
  • Proficiency in quantitative risk analysis techniques and financial modeling.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex risk concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrable experience with risk reporting and presentation tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Professional certifications such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst).
  • Experience with programming languages for data analysis (e.g., Python, R, SAS).
  • Previous experience in a global financial institution.
