Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Architect to join our dynamic technology team in Jersey City. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise-level database solutions that support critical business functions. This position requires a deep understanding of database technologies, architecture best practices, and performance tuning. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering robust and scalable database solutions in a large, complex environment. Visa sponsorship is available for exceptional candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and secure database architectures across various platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases).
• Define database standards, best practices, and guidelines for development teams.
• Perform database capacity planning, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Lead complex database projects, including migrations, upgrades, and new implementations.
• Collaborate with application developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective database designs.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Develop and implement robust disaster recovery and high availability strategies for databases.
• Mentor junior database professionals and contribute to the overall technical growth of the team.
• Evaluate new database technologies and recommend appropriate solutions to meet evolving business needs.

Required Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Database Architect or Senior Database Engineer.
• Expertise in designing and implementing complex relational database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server).
• Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, or T-SQL.
• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
• Knowledge of data modeling tools and methodologies.
• Understanding of database security best practices and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Proven problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL).
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Experience in the financial services industry.
• Certifications in relevant database technologies (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator).
• Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
