Job Description

Albuquerque Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher with a specialization in Chemistry to join our team for the upcoming academic year. This is a full-time, on-site position designed for an educator passionate about inspiring students through the wonders of chemical science. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a dynamic and supportive classroom environment where students can explore complex scientific concepts, develop critical thinking skills, and engage in hands-on experiments. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging chemistry curriculum in accordance with state standards.
• Plan and deliver effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Conduct hands-on laboratory experiments and activities, ensuring student safety.
• Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student success.

Required Skills

• Valid state teaching license or eligibility for licensure in Science (Chemistry) in New Mexico.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of chemistry principles and laboratory safety protocols.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong commitment to student success and continuous professional growth.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemistry or Science Education.
• Two or more years of experience teaching Chemistry at the high school level.
• Experience with differentiated instruction and inquiry-based learning.
• Proficiency in Spanish or other languages.
• Involvement in extracurricular activities or clubs related to science.
