Job Description

Rancho Solano Preparatory School is seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Guidance Counselor to join our team in Scottsdale, Arizona. This vital role involves supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of our students across various grade levels. The successful candidate will provide individual and group counseling, college and career guidance, and serve as a resource for students, parents, and faculty. Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to students on academic, personal, and social issues.
• Develop and implement comprehensive college and career guidance programs, including workshops, college visits, and application support.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to address student needs and promote a positive school environment.
• Assist students in developing effective coping strategies, decision-making skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Coordinate standardized testing and interpret results to help students understand their strengths and areas for growth.
• Maintain confidential student records and ensure compliance with ethical and professional standards.
• Serve as a liaison between the school and external community resources when necessary.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in school counseling.

Required Skills

• Master's degree in School Counseling, Educational Psychology, or a related field.
• Valid state counseling certification or licensure (or eligibility for licensure).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a school guidance counselor.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, parents, and faculty from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Strong understanding of child and adolescent development.
• Proficiency in college application processes and standardized testing (e.g., SAT, ACT).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an independent or international school setting.
• Familiarity with Arizona state educational standards and resources.
• Multilingual abilities are a plus.
• Experience with specific college counseling platforms (e.g., Naviance, Cialfo).
