Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Scala Developer to join our dynamic team at the IBM Client Innovation Center in Baton Rouge, LA. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and high-performance software applications using Scala and its ecosystem. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement robust, scalable, and high-performance applications using Scala.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge.
- Debug and resolve technical issues, ensuring optimal application performance.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and system design.

Required Skills
- 5+ years of professional software development experience with Scala.
- Strong understanding of functional programming principles.
- Experience with Akka, Play Framework, or similar Scala libraries/frameworks.
- Proficiency in building and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Solid understanding of relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with microservices architecture.
