Job Description

Honeywell is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Robotics Engineer to join our advanced manufacturing team in McAllen, TX. As a Robotics Engineer, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge robotic systems that enhance efficiency, safety, and productivity across our industrial operations. This is an on-site position where you will work hands-on with state-of-the-art technology in a dynamic and collaborative environment. In this role, you will apply your expertise in robotics, automation, and control systems to solve complex challenges, contributing to the next generation of smart factories. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and integrate robotic systems for various manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Program and configure industrial robots (e.g., manipulators, AGVs, collaborative robots) using various programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, ROS).
  • Conduct simulations and analyses to optimize robot performance, reach, and cycle times.
  • Develop and implement control algorithms for robot navigation, manipulation, and perception.
  • Perform testing, debugging, and validation of robotic systems to ensure functionality and adherence to safety standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for deployed robotic solutions.
  • Document designs, specifications, test plans, and operational procedures.
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and trends in robotics and artificial intelligence.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Robot Operating System (ROS)
  • Strong programming skills in Python and C++
  • Experience with robot kinematics, dynamics, and motion planning
  • Knowledge of industrial automation and control systems (PLCs, HMIs)
  • Familiarity with CAD software for robot cell design and simulation
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking
  • Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Direct experience with industrial robot brands such as KUKA, FANUC, ABB, or Universal Robots
  • Experience with machine vision systems and perception algorithms (e.g., OpenCV)
  • Understanding of safety standards for industrial robots (e.g., ISO 10218, ANSI/RIA R15.06)
  • Experience with simulation tools like Gazebo or V-REP
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques for robotic applications
