Job Description
As a Retail Merchandiser (Fashion) at H&M, you will be instrumental in creating an inspiring and organized shopping experience for our customers. You will be responsible for the visual presentation of merchandise, ensuring our store reflects current trends and company guidelines. Your keen eye for detail and passion for fashion will drive sales and enhance customer satisfaction, making our store a top destination for style.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement visual merchandising strategies according to H&M guidelines and current fashion trends.
- Ensure all merchandise is displayed attractively, logically, and in an organized manner.
- Manage inventory levels on the sales floor, including receiving, processing, and restocking new arrivals.
- Collaborate with the store management team to plan and execute seasonal changes and promotions.
- Monitor sales performance and adjust merchandising displays to maximize product visibility and drive sales.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized sales floor and stockroom.
- Provide excellent customer service, assisting shoppers with styling advice and product location.
- Train and guide sales associates on merchandising standards and product knowledge.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in retail merchandising or visual display, preferably in fashion.
- Strong understanding of current fashion trends and visual merchandising principles.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to lift, move, and arrange merchandise (up to 30 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Proficiency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Retail Management, or a related field.
- Previous experience with H&M's visual merchandising standards.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus, given the Brownsville location.
- Experience with inventory management systems.
