Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Restaurant Waiting Staff to join our vibrant team at The Keg Steakhouse + Bar in Kitchener. Key Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and escort them to their tables, presenting menus with an engaging demeanor.
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders, offering thoughtful recommendations and answering questions about menu items.
  • Serve food and drinks efficiently and courteously, ensuring all items are delivered according to company standards.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their meal, anticipating needs, and promptly addressing any concerns or requests.
  • Process payments and handle cash/card transactions with precision and integrity.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service flow and timely order delivery.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting dining area, including table setup and condiment replenishment.
  • Adhere strictly to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations and company policies.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable attitude.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a customer-service oriented mindset.
  • Basic mathematical skills for accurate order taking, bill calculation, and payment processing.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and lift/carry trays comfortably.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (6+ months) in a full-service restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Familiarity with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
  • Smart Serve certification (or willingness to obtain prior to employment).
  • Basic knowledge of steakhouse cuisine, menu ingredients, and beverage pairings.
