Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Restaurant Waiting Staff to join our dynamic team at one of our premier hotel restaurants in Downtown Minneapolis. As a key member of our food and beverage service, you will be responsible for providing exceptional dining experiences to our guests, ensuring their satisfaction from arrival to departure. Key Responsibilities
- Greet and seat guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Present menus, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently using POS system.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and correctly to tables.
- Ensure guest satisfaction throughout their dining experience by checking on them regularly.
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests with professionalism.
- Process payments accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including setting and clearing tables.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth service flow.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
Required Skills
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong customer service orientation and a friendly demeanor.
- Ability to handle cash and process credit card transactions accurately.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Knowledge of fine dining etiquette and service standards.
- Certification in food handling or responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS, ServSafe).
