Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Restaurant Waiter/Waitress to join our esteemed team in Cincinnati. This is an immediate start opportunity for a dedicated professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-end dining environment. As a key member of our front-of-house team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service, guiding guests through our menu, and ensuring a memorable dining experience that reflects the Jeff Ruby’s standard of excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and welcome guests upon their arrival, escorting them to their tables.
- Present menus, explain daily specials, and offer recommendations with detailed knowledge of food and beverage items.
- Accurately take food and drink orders, ensuring all special requests and dietary restrictions are communicated to the kitchen.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally, adhering to established service standards.
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their meal, anticipating and responding to needs efficiently and courteously.
- Process payments accurately and handle cash/credit transactions responsibly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, service stations, and equipment.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service flow.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down dining areas before and after service.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Waiter/Waitress in a high-volume, upscale restaurant.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage, including wine pairings and cocktails.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Punctual and reliable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in food safety and responsible alcohol service (e.g., ServSafe, TIPS).
- Experience with POS systems (e.g., Micros, Aloha).
- Multilingual abilities are a plus.
