Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team in Fayetteville, Arkansas. This is an exciting opportunity for international candidates as we offer visa sponsorship for qualified individuals. The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for providing comprehensive respiratory care services to patients across various units, ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient safety. You will play a crucial role in assessing, treating, and educating patients with cardiopulmonary disorders, collaborating closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures such as nebulizer treatments, oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation management, and arterial blood gas sampling.
- Assess patient respiratory status, review medical history, and evaluate diagnostic data to determine appropriate respiratory care.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, monitoring patient response and making adjustments as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, respiratory equipment, and therapeutic techniques.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to optimize patient care outcomes.
- Respond to emergencies and participate in rapid response teams, providing critical respiratory interventions.
- Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of Arkansas or eligibility to obtain.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in an acute care setting.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy.
- RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist).
- Experience with various ventilator models and respiratory care technologies.
- Prior experience with diverse patient populations and cultural sensitivities.
